Avatar photoDr. Blair McPhee

Although a kiwi by birth, Dr Blair McPhee first discovered (literally speaking) dinosaurs in the Triassic-Jurassic rocks of the famed Karoo Basin of South Africa – having completed his doctorate studies at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. After numerous field expeditions and a couple of dinosaurs named along the way, he leveraged his passing expertise in all things basal Sauropodomorpha into a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Sao Paulo in Ribeiro Preto, Brazil. In South America he had the great privilege of exploring the Triassic fossil beds of the Ischigualasto (Argentina) and Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul) formations. He currently resides back in his native New Zealand, devoting much of his professional hours to reporting on historical material of decidedly younger, non-Mesozoic vintage.
